Search Engines

How do people find you?

Let's face it...The phone book is dead. People don't go to a phone book anymore when they're looking for someone. They use the internet. If no one can find you, you'll end up with no business.

The need to be found comes with a problem, however. The number of websites on the internet has increased significantly and is continuing to increase daily.

The first website was placed on the world wide web in August of 1991.

Can you believe that?! I'm really feeling old now...

It can be very difficult to be found with all the options.

There are two types of search engine marketing. SEO and SEM. SEO stands for Search Engine Optimization, and that is your earned search. SEM stands for Search Engine Marketing, and that is your bought search.

SEO stands for Search Engine Optimization. SEO is your earned searches. It focuses on growing visibility in organic search engine results instead of paying for advertisements. SEO uses techniques to improve rankings, drive traffic, and increase awareness in the search engines.

SEM stands for Search Engine Marketing. It includes SEO, but SEM goes beyond SEO. SEM includes other marketing strategies. SEM will often include paid traffic and display advertising on the search engines. The most well-known method for SEM is using Google AdWords.

In order to get your business to show up effectively in the search engines for people to find you, there are some things you will have to do.
